Monument to Prince Vladimir in Kiev appeared in the middle of the XIX century – at his age this is the second of the monuments in the city and the oldest sculptural monument. Installed it in the park “Vladimir Hill” a few minutes from the center, in a very picturesque place with a gorgeous view on the left bank of the city.
This monument is dedicated to the Great Prince Vladimir of Kiev Svjatoslavovich who lived in X-XI centuries, and went down in history as the Baptizer of Kievan Rus. So every year, when Ukraine marks the anniversary of the Baptism of Rus’ (28 July), at the foot of the monument are the state and church events.
The photograph shows the top of the sculpture on the background of a cloudy sky.
